Statement of Faith

Stained Glass Window at Wilderville Community Church

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, which is often referred to as the Trinity.

We believe in the eternal existence of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory to reign forevermore.

We believe in the salvation of lost and sinful man by God the Father, through the redeeming work of God the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, on the cross of Calvary.

We believe that salvation is freely offered to all people, through His grace and mercy alone. Salvation is not a result of our good works, but by the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit indwelling the Christian believer is to live a victorious life of faith, trust, and obedience to God.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe that a person can KNOW that they are saved and going to heaven through the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross in full payment for the penalty of their sin.

We encourage all true believers to follow the Lord in baptism. The act of baptism is not a requirement of salvation but is an outward testimony of what God has already performed in the believer’s heart. Baptism by submersion in water signifies the believer’s death, burial, resurrection, and on-going new life with Christ as Savior and Lord.

We encourage believers to participate in the Lord’s Supper, which symbolizes the Lord’s death and resurrection, and the anticipation of the rapture.

We believe there are many promises God makes to anyone who will trust in Him, live for Him, and endeavor to follow Him in any way the Holy Spirit of God will lead him.
